Support around family life.

Support is planned in six-week blocks, from one to 25 hours weekly, subject to suitability and availability. After the first session, either side may end the arrangement and the remaining sessions are refunded. Trainees have a responsible second adult present throughout, with separately agreed, consented live observation. No family session is recorded.

For children from pre-school age to 12, with after-school, holiday, home-education and appropriate wraparound or respite support, subject to practitioner suitability.

A diagnosis or school-issued support plan is not required. Families who home educate can also explore suitable support. Payment is arranged through your ANCHOR account once your place is confirmed.

Practitioners work in the family’s home where appropriate, within their competence and insurance. All ANCHOR bookings will go through the platform under the agreed independent-provider contract. Membership does not guarantee suitable local availability.

You decide what to share.

Child-support profiles will be private by default. Only a limited, de-identified request will be shown to eligible practitioners when you choose to share it. Identifying information is not automatically sent with an enquiry.

All contact is adult-to-adult. There are no child accounts or direct practitioner messages to children.

Parent SEND support, membership and booking FAQs

Parent SEND learning and membership

What does ANCHOR parent membership include?

The planned membership brings together six self-directed learning modules with videos and resources, an optional monthly group webinar and access to approved practitioner profiles and booking management when those services launch. Practitioners and guest professionals may offer additional workshops or guidance, but extra events and individual appointments are included only if explicitly stated.

What does parent membership cost and how long can I access the learning?

A planned introductory offer provides three months of membership for £5.99. Standard membership is planned from January 2027 at £18.99 monthly or £149.99 annually. The current form is a waiting list only: no account is created and no payment is taken. Before payment opens, the complete offer period, renewal date, price and terms will be shown. The six-module course will remain available throughout active paid membership. Join the priority list and we confirm places in enrolment order.

Is a practitioner appointment included in membership?

No. Practitioner support is booked and paid separately at the complete block price shown before purchase. Membership is access to learning and the planned platform services, not a promise of appointments or unlimited professional advice.

How does the optional monthly parent webinar work?

Register for each group webinar you want to attend. Attendance is optional and unused places do not carry forward. These sessions provide educational perspectives, not therapy, individual case management or emergency advice. Do not share children’s identifying details. The current programme operates without recording live sessions.

Do we need a diagnosis or an EHCP?

No. You can explore support by describing the everyday help your family needs. A diagnosis or school-issued support plan is not required. Optional health information should only be shared through an approved controlled process where necessary for safe support.

Finding suitable SEN support for your child

How are ANCHOR practitioners selected and screened?

The intended register is individually reviewed, with competence assessed through training, observed practice and interview, alongside identity, references and appropriate checks. Full registration and supervised trainee status are clearly distinguished. Current profiles are fictional examples. Screening reduces risk but cannot guarantee conduct or suitability for every family.

What everyday needs can a practitioner help with?

Depending on approved competence, support can include morning and bedtime routines, transitions, learning participation, sensory distress, emotional regulation, social connection and communication. Describe what is difficult and what would help. Support for tactile sensitivities must respect the child’s preferences and does not imply touch-based treatment or occupational therapy.

Can we book after school, at weekends or during holidays?

Yes, when a suitable practitioner offers those times. Availability may include home education and appropriate wraparound support. Select the timing, location and type of help you need. A displayed time is not confirmed until the booking is accepted.

What if no suitable practitioner is available near us?

Contact info@anchorinclusion.co.uk with your broad area, desired support, days and times, and hourly budget. Avoid identifying child details in the first message. ANCHOR can consider demand, suitable alternatives or future recruitment, but cannot guarantee a local match or a match at your budget. Check availability before purchasing solely for access to bookings.

Can I choose the practitioner and change my mind?

Yes. Review the person’s scope, status, experience and full price, and discuss suitability before booking. You control which practitioners receive identifying information. If the first session shows a poor fit, follow the first-session exit and refund process; you do not have to continue with an unsuitable practitioner.

Are all practitioners therapists or clinical specialists?

No. Backgrounds vary, and professional titles must be checked on the individual profile. ANCHOR support is educational and practical. Certification alone does not authorise diagnosis, therapy, speech and language treatment, medication advice or restraint, and does not replace clinical care.

Six-week bookings, prices and platform protection

What is the minimum and maximum booking?

The planned family booking is a six-week block, with at least one hour a week and no more than 25 hours a week. This is a permitted range, not a recommendation to use the maximum. The actual hours depend on the child’s needs, wishes, practitioner capacity and safe scope. The written booking specifies all dates and hours.

Does the displayed block price include ANCHOR’s commission?

Yes. The 10% ANCHOR commission is included in the initial block price, not added afterwards. The remaining 90% is allocated to the practitioner, subject to delivery, refunds and the agreed payout schedule. At £50 an hour for one hour a week over six weeks, the block is £300: £30 commission and £270 allocated to the practitioner.

Why must I book and pay through ANCHOR?

Platform bookings provide a record of the agreed service, price, practitioner, consent and payment, supporting refund requests and complaints handling. Pay only through the approved checkout when it opens. Never pay a practitioner privately for an ANCHOR booking or send card details in a message.

What if I paid outside the platform?

ANCHOR cannot reverse or refund a payment it did not process, and its contractual or insurance protections may not cover that arrangement. Contact the payment provider about payment remedies and tell ANCHOR about inappropriate off-platform requests. Safeguarding and conduct concerns can still be reported; they are not ignored because payment happened elsewhere.

Can a practitioner take my child away from the agreed premises?

Not under the standard premises-based booking. A proposed outing, transport arrangement or change of premises must be requested in writing to ANCHOR in advance and separately approved with suitable consent, risk assessment, scope and insurance. A verbal request on the day is not enough. Emergency action remains governed by safety duties.

Is the booking system live now?

Not yet. The website is being developed privately. Demonstration profiles, calendars and enquiries do not create paid appointments. Accounts, payment protection, insurance arrangements and access controls must be ready and tested before bookings open. Join the priority list and we confirm places in enrolment order.

Rescheduling, no-shows and refunds

What if the practitioner is unsuitable after the first session?

Notify ANCHOR promptly with the booking reference and explain that you want to end or discuss a switch. Either party may end after session one under the planned policy. The remaining five sessions in a standard six-session block are refunded or transferred to an agreed suitable alternative. For blocks with several hours or sessions weekly, unused paid support after the first-session exit must be itemised in the final terms.

How do I reschedule a session?

Request the change through booking management when available. The planned policy offers a free rebooking within two weeks when at least 48 hours’ notice is given. If it is not rebooked in that time, the proposed policy adds a free session to the next block. Final terms will explain options if you are not buying another block; statutory rights remain unaffected.

What happens with less than 48 hours’ notice?

Late cancellation or a missed family appointment is normally chargeable under the proposed terms, with one discretionary waiver per block. Tell ANCHOR promptly about illness or exceptional circumstances for individual review. A family’s no-show must not reduce the practitioner’s reliability score.

What should I do if the practitioner does not arrive?

Check the booking details and any messages, then report the no-show with the booking reference and scheduled time. Do not mark an undelivered session as completed. When the service launches, ANCHOR will check attendance before releasing disputed payment and arrange the applicable rebooking or refund. If safety is involved, use the safeguarding route immediately.

What if the practitioner cancels?

A cancelled practitioner session is rebooked without charge or refunded under the final booking terms. You should not have to buy another block to receive a remedy for undelivered practitioner support. ANCHOR will review repeated unexplained cancellations.

Can I request a refund later in the block?

Yes, raise the issue promptly and describe what was not delivered or why the service may be unsuitable. Beyond the first-session exit, remedies depend on the circumstances, services supplied, agreed terms and statutory rights. Lack of a particular outcome does not automatically establish poor service, but safety or quality concerns must be reviewed.

Children’s safety, responsibilities and complaints

Must I stay in the room with a trainee?

Yes. A parent, carer or responsible adult with responsibility for the child must remain in the room throughout every trainee session. A trainee must not be left alone with the child. Full registration does not automatically authorise every care arrangement; supervision and handover requirements must still be agreed.

Will a supervisor join my child’s session?

For a trainee on the ANCHOR-supervised route, one agreed one-hour session with your family is observed remotely by an ANCHOR Lead Practitioner Trainer. The trainee completes one observation with each of six different families, giving six observed hours overall. ANCHOR explains who will attend and why, and obtains consent before the session. A responsible adult stays in the room throughout. Observation is live, never recorded, and stops if it distresses the child.

What are parents and caregivers responsible for?

Provide accurate information needed for safe support through the approved process, confirm authority to arrange the service, agree access and a suitable environment, and tell ANCHOR about relevant changes. Keep the responsible adult present where required. Follow agreed booking and cancellation arrangements, without being expected to take on clinical tasks or guarantee your child’s progress.

Do the terms waive the practitioner’s responsibility?

No blanket waiver is appropriate. The terms define the agreed service, premises and each person’s responsibilities; they do not excuse negligence, unsafe practice or breach of statutory rights. ANCHOR and practitioners remain accountable for their own duties. Final liability and insurance wording requires legal review before launch.

Competition and Markets Authority: fair contract terms

How do I make a complaint or report dissatisfaction?

Use the platform’s reporting route when available, or email info@anchorinclusion.co.uk with a brief concern and reference. Do not send detailed child histories to the ordinary inbox. ANCHOR aims to respond to ordinary enquiries within one to two working days, arrange a restricted route where needed, consider evidence and give a written outcome. An independent appeal route is available for disputed decisions.

What can happen after a complaint?

Depending on the evidence, outcomes can include clarification, service remedies, improvement actions, warnings, suspension or removal from the register. Serious concerns can trigger precautionary suspension immediately. You will receive an appropriate outcome explanation without disclosure of another person’s confidential information.

What if I am worried a child is at risk?

Do not wait for customer support. Call 999 for immediate danger, or contact the relevant children’s services or safeguarding professional. Tell ANCHOR through the appropriate reporting route as well. Platform messages and the general email inbox are not emergency services.

Can my child refuse a session or an observation?

Yes. Their comfort, communication and wishes matter. A child can decline or ask for a different practitioner without being penalised for raising the concern. Pause and discuss what is making support uncomfortable. Never continue an observation simply to complete a practitioner’s assessment.

Continuity, progress and family feedback

How soon should we expect progress?

There is no reliable guarantee that improvement begins in session five or six, or within any fixed number of sessions. Some families notice changes sooner; others need a different approach or referral. Agree realistic aims and review comfort, participation and everyday experiences throughout the block rather than waiting until the end to raise concerns.

Why book consistently with the same practitioner?

A familiar adult and predictable schedule can help build trust and allow everyone to understand what is helpful over time. Continuity is encouraged where the relationship is safe and suitable. Repeated bookings do not guarantee improvement, and changing or stopping support can be appropriate.

What can we do between sessions?

Agree a small, manageable plan with the practitioner and share what fits your family’s routines. Consistent opportunities to try agreed approaches may help carry learning into daily life. Adapt around the child’s preferences and family capacity. Difficulty following a plan is a reason to adjust it, not to blame the parent or child.

Why leave a review after a completed block?

An honest review helps other families understand the support, communication and reliability they might expect. Describe your own experience without names or details identifying children. Reviews follow completed blocks; do not feel pressured to leave a positive review or delay a complaint until review time.

What do profile reviews and ratings tell me?

They describe family experience, not clinical effectiveness or a guarantee of fit. Would-book-again figures are shown only after at least five completed and rated blocks. Reliability measures concern practitioner attendance and communication, not parent cancellations. Consider scope, checks, experience and your child’s needs alongside feedback.
