LEARNER SUPPORT

When circumstances affect your learning.

Request help promptly. Decisions consider your circumstances and proportionate evidence.

Ordinary requests

Request an extension from two working days before the deadline up to the deadline itself. Explain your circumstances. The approved duration will be stated in the written decision.

Short-term illness

Request a 14-working-day extension between two working days before and two working days after the original deadline. The revised submission date will be confirmed in writing. Fourteen working days is longer than two calendar weeks.

Serious illness

Requests may be submitted up to 14 calendar days after the original deadline. Following evidence review and approval, a new deadline may be set within nine months of approval. This approved exception may extend beyond the ordinary 12-month certification limit.

Proportionate alternative evidence may be considered where medical documentation would be unreasonable, delayed or inaccessible. Do not email medical documents to the general inbox; first request the restricted submission route.

Decisions and appeals

Asha makes the initial decision, with assessor advice where appropriate. The planned process includes immediate acknowledgement and an initial decision within five working days. A timely request under review is protected from late-assessment penalties. Appeals are reviewed independently of the original decision.

Working days are Monday to Friday excluding English bank holidays. Deadlines use UK local time. The automated service is not yet active; contact info@anchorinclusion.co.uk to arrange a review.

Late work and cancellation

Unexplained late work requires individual review. An administrative assessment charge of up to £150 may apply only where it reflects reasonable additional work, after notice and review. It is not automatic.

Statutory rights, including applicable 14-day cancellation provisions, are preserved. After that period, fees already due are normally non-refundable where access and services have been provided, subject to statutory rights and exceptional review.

Evidence privacy

Medical evidence requires restricted storage and limited authorised access. The proposed maximum retention is 12 months after submission, with earlier deletion when no longer needed, subject to documented legal obligations. Secure uploads remain closed until privacy and access arrangements are operational.
